Top NXT Star Returning

NXT opens with Michael Cole saying he's standing in for William Regal who recently had neck surgery. He announces that Eva Marie vs Bayley will happen tonight.

Up next the contract signing for Finn Balor vs Samoa Joe. Joe comes out and makes no eye contact with Balor. He signs the contract then heads straight to the back. Balor signs and heads off. As he turns to pump up the crowd one more time he's jumped from behind by Samoa Joe and the segment ends with Joe choking Finn Balor out once again.

NXT Tag Team Championships
Dash and Dawson def The Vaudevillains to retain the NXT Tag Titles. After the match they're confronted by Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy which likely sets the stage for NXT Takeover London

Asuka vs Dana Brooke did not happen as Emma attacked Asuka before the match.

Apollo Crews def Jesse Sorenson - after the match Crews accepted Baron Corbin's challenge at NXT Takeover: London

NXT Womens Title
Bayley def Eva Marie w Nia Jax to retain the NXT Womens Title - This match had Wrestlemania level suspense. Nia Jax gave Eva Marie every chance to win taking out the referee and head butting Bayley. All in all a very good match due to all the outside drama. Nia Jax would attack Bayley after the match signalling her own title hopes.

NXT Top 10 Rankings Edition #1

Raw Results 11/16

*The fans spoke. An overwhelming majority voted for NXT Rankings and here they are. 1st edition. Bookmark and follow for more! Thanks for your votes! Stay tuned for the next vote.

Smaller roster therefore rankings include all rankings (Singles, Womens and Tag team rankings).

#1 Finn Balor - He had an awesome match with Apollo Crews but the last time we seen Balor he was choked out in the middle of the ring by Samoa Joe. Make no mistake the leader of the Balor Club is still on top of the mountain. The NXT Champion has his hands full with Joe and it's only a matter of time before these two have a war for the ages.

#2 Samoa Joe - The Samoan brawler has been on a tear since his NXT debut and he's got the Dusty Rhodes Classic trophy in his collection but he's not satisfied. Joe's eyes are now firmly set on former partner Finn Balor. He's run through everything put in front of him thus far but can he shut down the Demon or has he bit off more than even he can chew?

3. Apollo Crews - Another star on a tear since his arrival. His first real test was Finn Balor for the NXT Title and despite being attacked by Baron Corbin he was able to show he not only belongs but really tested the champion.

4. Bayley - The NXT Women's Champion has some incredibly tough challenges on the horizon with Nia Jax and Asuka looking great but for the moment it looks like Alexa Bliss is in line for the next title shot. Her recent run has been remarkable with two wins over Sasha Banks and an impressive Bayley-To-Belly on Murphy on the most recent NXT

5. Dash and Dawson - The brawlers forced their way into the title picture by taking out the competition and did the same to the VaudeVillains on their way to the NXT Tag Team Championship. It will be tough to unseat these two as the grinders will do absolutely anything to retain the titles.

6. Asuka - The Japanese star has wowed fans with her flying arm bars and unorthodox style that seems to have caught the NXT women's roster by surprise. If she continues to dominate with a smile it's only a matter of time before she's facing off for the NXT Women's Title.

7. Jason Jordon and Chad Gable - These guys became relevant very quickly and they've worked incredibly well together

8. Baron Corbin - The Lone Wolf is still toiling on the sidelines of the title picture but coming out on top against Apollo Crews could do wonders for him going forward.

9. Nia Jax - She looks like shes going to be a dominant force in the division going forward

10. The VaudeVillains - The former champs have been unimpressive since winning the NXT Tag Team Titles and it's no surprise it was a short run. They'll be in tough to take the titles back and to stick in the top 10.

John Cena's US Title Open Challenge has been announced for Hell In A Cell but the WWE has been quiet on who the opponent is. While Heath Slater campaigns for a shot on twitter it's clear the shot is going to someone who not only has a chance to take the US Title but also has shock factor. Enter NXT Champion Finn Balor

Does it makes sense?
WWE ratings are struggling with no end in sight. NXT continues to grow in popularity while many hardcore fans suggest the development territory has overtaken the marquee brand Raw. As rating have sagged the last while we've seen WWE look to NXT for graduations on a few occasions and even as recently as this weeks SmackDown when "Prince Pretty" Tyler Breeze debuted and ran over Dolph Ziggler.

The current NXT Champion Finn Balor has an upcoming title defense against Apollo Crews and no natural enemies on the horizon. There hasn't been much build up in the NXT title picture and that led to the #1 contender battle royal which as mentioned before Crews won.

Look no further than former NXT Champion Kevin Owens. He debuted on Raw. Stunned John Cena in the first meeting and went on to have wars with the United States Champion for the next 3 PPV's the first match of which he won!

NXT is Triple H's baby and you know he's going to continue to build the brand and load the main roster with NXT graduates. That said the biggest one yet may come at Hell In A Cell.

With John Cena set to take a break until after Christmas the WWE and it's flagship show Monday Night Raw will be lacking star power now more than ever and the face of NXT The Demon Finn Balor looks poised for a big debut at a PPV that needs to boost Raw ratings the following night.

Is Finn Balor the man who steps up at Hell In A Cell? Discuss
